This event helps raise funds for Science Camp. This event helps new parents and children connect.

Event held on first Friday right after drop off. Parents are informed about various opportunities to volunteer and help at Adelante

This is an evening event for teachers to explain to the parents classroom happenings and expectations.

This is an evening event to promote reading. Volunteers set-up tents and readers read to students for about 40 minutes, then everyone enjoys pan dulce and chocolate

Each Grade level is assigned a different culture to share how they celebrate the holiday and share that in a song/presentation to the Adelante Community. Evening event before break.

STEAM Project Packets go home and preparation begins (TBD)

STEAM project preparations begin. Teachers decide if they will be done in class or at home. Each grade level will get a science theme depending on the grade level curriculum. Top three are chosen by teacher and there will be a STEAM fair in March

Maraton de Lectura/ Reading Marathon

PTA

PTA plans a reading marathon as a fundraiser and to promote reading. Each student will receive a reading log, sponsor sheet and rules packet. This will take place over a span of 3-4 weeks.

Career Day

Community Liaison and Assigned Teacher

Invite Career Professionals to present to our students. The event is from 9:00-11:00am with three different rounds of speakers allowing each class to hear from at least 3 different speakers

Cesar Chavez March

Assigned Teacher

Students choose to write a speech or draw a picture in honor of Cesar Chavez. Principal chooses the best ones to submit to the District to enter into a contest. Grade levels have the opportunity to participate in the District Wide March to honor the day

PTA plans a dinner/dance to promote community building amongst our parents and teachers.

Dia del Nino-Make and Take night

This is an evening for parents especially new parents to come and get ideas on creating poems or their students for Dia del Nino

Teachers open their classrooms to allow parents to come in and read the poems they created to their child. Then the whole school meets on the black top to blow bubbles make a wish and enjoy ice cream all to celebrate Dia del Nino

Spanish Spelling Bee

Students will compete to travel to the National Spanish Spelling bee to compete there. Depending on this year’s organizers this will be voluntary or teachers will hold elimination rounds in their classrooms.

PTA organizes a food festival with carnival games. Normally held on a Friday afternoon. The event helps building community and raise funds for our school.
